Krug (ankle) is not expected to resume his playing career according to general manager Doug Armstrong, per Lou Korac of NHL.com on Tuesday.
Armstrong wouldn't completely rule out a return -- which isn't surprising after Gabriel Landeskog came back from a three-year absence -- but said he doesn't expect to have Krug back in the future. With two years left on his deal, the expectation at this point will be for Krug's contract to spend those two years on long-term injured reserve. Assuming this is the end of the road, Krug will retire having played 13 seasons in the NHL for the Bruins and Blues, racking up 89 goals and 394 assists in 778 games along the way.

Blues' Tyler Tucker: Dealing with long-term injury

According to general manager Doug Armstrong, Tucker (lower body) would have been sidelined for the remainder of the postseason if the Blues had advanced past the first round, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports Tuesday.
Tucker was injured against the Jets in Game 4 of St. Louis' first-round series defeat. The 25-year-old logged one goal, four PIM and 12 hits over three postseason appearances. Armstrong did not provide any information with respect to Tucker's recovery timeline, so it's currently unclear if the left-shot defenseman will be ready for training camp in 2025-26.

Blues' Dylan Holloway: Wouldn't have returned

Holloway (lower body) was not expected back this season and will turn his focus to 2025-26, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports. Additionally, general manager Doug Armstrong confirmed Holloway underwent surgery.
According to Armstrong, Holloway should be ready for the start of the upcoming campaign, but didn't divulge the nature of the winger's injury. Prior to getting hurt, the 23-year-old Calgary native was rolling offensively with six goals and 10 helpers in his last 12 outings. In his first year with the Blues, Holloway set new personal bests in goals (26), assists (37) and power-play points (13).
Walker logged an assist, three shots on goal and nine hits in Sunday's 4-3 double-overtime loss to the Jets in Game 7.
Walker set up Radek Faksa's goal late in the second period, which put the Blues up 3-1. The 31-year-old Walker had four points over seven postseason contests, all of which came in Game 5 or later in the first-round series. That burst of offense is not the norm -- he had a career-high 16 points in 73 appearances in the regular season as a fourth-liner, which is likely the role he'll fill again in 2025-26.

Parayko was hot in the playoffs, racking up a goal and five assists over the last five contests. The 31-year-old won't get to extend that streak after the Blues' season ended Sunday. The defenseman had a career year in the regular season with 16 goals, 36 points and a plus-12 rating over 64 appearances. His production was bolstered by a 12.8 shooting percentage, nearly double his previous high of 6.5 percent from 2023-24, so it's fair to assume some regression is in the cards for Parayko in 2025-26.

Faksa's tally with 35 seconds left in the second period looked to be a dagger at the time. The Jets were able to shake it off, scoring twice in the final two minutes of regulation. While this goal ultimately didn't help the Blues advance, Faksa looked good with five points over seven playoff outings. That performance followed a 15-point effort over 70 regular-season contests. Faksa is one of two unrestricted free agents on the Blues' roster, so the team could keep the band together for 2025-26, though it's no guarantee they'll re-sign Faksa. He was a good fit for the Blues' fourth line, finding chemistry with Alexei Toropchenko and Nathan Walker.

Blues' Jordan Binnington: Heartbreaker in Game 7

Binnington stopped 43 of 47 shots in Sunday's 4-3 double-overtime loss to the Jets in Game 7.
Binnington came within seconds of upsetting the Presidents' Trophy winners, but Cole Perfetti's tip-in goal forced overtime. Adam Lowry completed the job for the Jets, leaving Binnington with a hard-luck loss in a series that could have gone either way. He went 3-4 with a 2.53 GAA and a .901 save percentage over seven playoff outings and largely outplayed Connor Hellebuyck in the opposite crease, but neither team was able to steal a road win in the series. Binnington's 2.69 GAA in the regular season was his best mark in four years despite a mediocre .900 save percentage over 56 appearances. He's under contract for two more years and is expected to be the Blues' top goalie as they look for better fortunes in 2025-26.
