Reds' TJ Friedl: Legs out triple in loss
Friedl went 2-for-4 with a triple in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the Pirates.
Friedl gave the Reds their best chance at scoring when he took advantage of a carom off the right-field wall and turned a sure double into a triple. Unfortunately for Cincinnati, he was stranded there, as Pittsburgh lefty Bailey Falter induced a groundout, strikeout and pop out to escape. Since returning from a two-game absence due to a wrist injury, Friedl is 6-for-18 with three extra-base hits, three walks, an RBI and three runs scored.

Reds' TJ Friedl: Returns to Cincinnati lineup
Friedl (wrist) will start in center field and bat leadoff in Friday's game versus the Guardians.

Reds' TJ Friedl: Eyeing return to lineup Friday
Friedl (wrist) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the White Sox.
Friedl is tending to a bone bruise in his right wrist, an injury he suffered in Tuesday's 5-1 loss. The Reds held him out of the lineup for Wednesday's 4-2 loss, though manager Terry Francona told Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News that Friedl was available off the bench to pinch run or play defense. Friedl will remain limited to a bench role for the second day in a row because the wrist issue is still making it difficult for him to hit comfortably, but Francona expressed hope that the 29-year-old would be back in action for Friday's series opener versus the Guardians. Will Benson will cover center field in Frield's place Thursday.

Reds' TJ Friedl: Out with wrist bone bruise
Friedl is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the White Sox and has been diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right wrist, Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News reports.
Friedl suffered the injury Tuesday against the White Sox when he fell hard on the wrist following a collision with teammate Elly De La Cruz. He will test out how the wrist feels with a bat in his hands pregame, although it's not clear whether he will do any hitting. For now, Friedl is considered day-to-day. Will Benson is in center field and batting seventh for the Reds on Wednesday.

Reds' TJ Friedl: Fighting wrist soreness
Friedl exited Tuesday's game against the White Sox early due to right wrist soreness, Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News reports.
Friedl's wrist hit the ground hard after he collided with Elly De La Cruz in the outfield during the fourth inning, leading to Friedl's eventual removal in the fifth. X-rays on his wrist came back negative after the game, so he doesn't seem to be dealing with anything too serious. However, the Reds may elect to sit him down for a day or two, especially since the 29-year-old had also been hit in the left forearm by a pitch earlier in the game.

Reds' TJ Friedl: Exits early Tuesday
Friedl was removed from Tuesday's game against the White Sox due to an apparent injury, Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News reports.
Friedl was hit by a pitch in the third inning of Tuesday's contest before colliding with Elly De La Cruz while chasing down a flyball in the fourth. He remained in the game following the collision but was replaced in the field to begin the fifth. It's possible his removal was simply a precaution to prevent his body from taking any more punishment, but the Reds should provide more details in the near future.

Reds' TJ Friedl: Third career multi-homer game
Friedl went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs and a walk in Wednesday's win over Atlanta.
It was the third career multi-homer effort by Friedl, who also snapped a 26-game homerless drought in the process. The outfielder has reached base safely in five of his six outings in May, during which he's batting a healthy .261 with three stolen bases, five runs scored and four walks over 23 at-bats. The lefty-hitting Friedl's struggles versus southpaws should continue to inhibit his overall fantasy volume and upside -- he has a .578 OPS against left-handed pitching -- but he does sport a .784 OPS against righties this season.
